How we sell
Primarily we sell our house pots by using this website (see our 'Buy Direct' page) and EBay. Please see our 'Buy on Ebay' page page for details. We cannot sell items currently offered for sale on the EBay website directly to you. You must purchase them on EBay - this is part of our agreement with them.
Items seen on this website that are not currently being offered on EBay can be purchased directly from us. If you see something that is not for sale but would like to buy, please contact us initially by e-mail to express your interest. It is highly likely that a similar one can be made for you. 2ianb@thehousepottery.com
If you are purchasing from us we do recommend that you read through all of this page. Further down you will find information on:

How we prepare your pots and plaques.
All House Pots intended for indoor use are supplied with green felt pads fitted to the bases. These will protect you furniture. As you can see from the pictures above, all House Pottery pieces have provenance with the potter's initials, mark and year of making clearly visible.
Garden ware is usually made with at least one drainage hole (often supplied with a fired clay plug just in case you wish to block the hole). See the right-hand picture above.
Most wall plaques are made with a slot in the rear to allow them to be hung using picture nails. A picture nail is supplied with each plaque as well as green felt pads fitted to the lower edge. These will protect your wall and allow the plaque to hang correctly. The picture (left) shows a London Plaque ready for dispatch with felt pads in place and a picture nail taped to the back.
Some plaques are made without a picture nail slot and these are intended to be mounted and/or framed. The House Pottery can arrange for this to be done on your behalf. See our Information Page for further details about framing.
How we pack your house pot.
Each house pot is first wrapped in bubble wrap. We then custom make our own corrugated card carton exactly to the size required to ensure safe transit. Your bubble wrapped house pot is then placed in the carton surrounded by ample shredded paper. The package is then securely sealed with tape before being labelled for dispatch. We haven't actually tried it, but we are confident that one of our house pots would remain safely intact if the package was dropped.
How we dispatch your house pot.
We dispatch your pots by Royal Mail or courier. We prefer and recommend postal and courier services that require:
- A signature
- Are trackable
- Have compensation attached that at least matches the value of the house pottery within the package.
However, we usually offer a range of delivery options to buyers and, as the customer, you decide the service that suits you best. Inevitably, the choice of delivery service amounts to economy versus speed of delivery, security (can it be traced?) and level of compensation if something goes wrong in transit.
When posting overseas we apply the same criteria and declare honestly the contents of the package (so there should be no difficulties with customs).
